Benefits of Ceramic Tile

Ceramic tiles offer many benefits that make them stand out from other types of flooring.

benefits of ceramic tile

Ceramic tiles are made from a mixture of clay, sand, and other natural materials that have been molded into square shaped and fired in a kiln to achieve hardness. A layer of glaze is typically applied to the tile to give the tile color and gloss. The glaze layer is non-porous, which makes the tile resistant to moisture and staining. Unglazed tiles are also available, but these tiles are more susceptible to moisture damage. An unglazed tile will wear better than an unglazed tile, due to the fact that it maintains a consistent color all the way through the body of the tile. Unglazed tiles are also more slip-resistant than glazed tiles, as the surface is more abrasive and provides more traction. For these reasons, unglazed tiles are more suited for commercial applications that receive heavy traffic, while glazed tiles are better for the home.

Tiles can be used on your floor and on walls and countertops as well as your floor. Floor tiles are typically thicker than wall tiles in order to stand up to traffic, so using wall tiles for flooring isn’t recommended. Conversely, floor tiles can be used for walls or countertops!

Ceramic tiles offer many benefits that make them stand out from other types of flooring, including:
